Pet Owner Information - Out of Hours Care
The surgery is open 24/7 for emergency vet care
All Creatures Healthcare offers a 24/7 emergency vet service in Norwich for our clients, as well as pet owners registered with a number of local vet practices when your daytime practice is closed – see below.
This service is operated by us and we have a full, dedicated team onsite who are available to see emergency cases and care for hospitalised patients out of hours.
Our 24/7 out of hours service ensures that your pets are never without the critical care they need. We understand that accidents and illness can occur at any time of the day or night, and just how worrying it can be. You can rest assured that your pet will be in excellent hands with our highly experienced veterinary team and will be treated in our state-of-the-art facilities.
To ensure optimal conditions for a restful recovery, we have species-specific patient wards that will cater to your pet’s needs. We have wards for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals, as well as an isolation ward for infectious cases.

For clients of local vet practices
All Creatures Healthcare offers a full emergency service including overnight hospitalisation and intensive care facilities on behalf of a number of local vet practices.
When your daytime veterinary practice is closed, you can relax in the knowledge that you have 24/7 access to out of hours emergency vets in Norwich. Our team will share information about your pet’s condition and treatment with your usual vet practice the next day. We will also discuss with you and your own Vet, whether it would be best for your pet to remain hospitalised with us, transferred (when stable) back to their clinic or a specialist referral centre, or come home with you.
Whilst your pet is an in-patient with us, we will be your point of contact about their immediate care. Questions about other aspects of your pet’s healthcare and once your pet has been transferred back to your daytime vets, should be directed to them. Our daytime team will be happy to discuss any queries about out-of-hours billing, related insurance claims, or the services we have provided with you.
Due to the nature of emergency out of hours care, consultation and treatment prices will differ from your regular ‘daytime’ veterinary care.
When you call us for free emergency advice, our team will be able to give you the price for your out of hours consultation. Once your pet has been admitted and assessed by our team, one of our Vets will discuss any diagnostic and treatment options with you and provide an estimate of costs. This cannot be provided over the phone without seeing your pet.
With any emergency care, costs can change as diagnostics and treatments progress. Our Vets will endeavour to keep you informed of cost changes along the way
Whilst we are providing out of hours care to pets onsite, we are unable to provide home visits. If your pet is very unwell or has a life-threatening injury and you are unable to drive to us, we advise you to contact a pet taxi, or ask a friend or neighbour to bring your pet to us quickly so they can receive treatment without delay.
If you feel a home visit is your pet’s only option, please contact us for advice on 01603 89 89 84.
